Plantings I made two weeks earlier are now well established. The weather has been bad for growth with a notable lack of both sunshine and warmth, and rain every day until three days ago.
Despite the bad weather, you can see how fleece on top of seedlings has protected them from wind and pests and enabled good survival. Even carrots seedlings have appeared and they normally are very slow. This is southern UK, no dig bed.
Fleece is 30gsm / 1 oz / yard, sadly is made of plastic. I have tried cotton and sheep wool, they don't cut it.
