In this full-length acrylic painting tutorial, I’ll guide you through my process for creating beautiful, loose yet realistic roses — from the very first layer all the way through to the final glazing.

In this lesson, you’ll learn:
• how to layer colours to create depth and softness
• how to paint petals using simple brush techniques
• how to use glazing to bring your painting to life

• Paints (Acrylic):
– Titanium White
– Quinacridone Magenta (or any pink/red)
– Burnt Sienna
– Yellow Ochre
– Phthalo Blue (or any blue)
– Phthalo Green (blue shade or similar)

• Brushes:
– Flat edge brushes (medium & large)
– I used Galleria One Stroke brushes (25mm + 19mm), but any flat brush works

• Other supplies:
– Paper palette (or any palette)
– Water jar
– Old cloth or paper towel
– Optional: Glazing fluid (for the final layer)
