Ways to encourage ripening of tomatoes. Here I reckon to remove them before the middle of October because there is so little warmth or daylight by then.
To ripen more fruit, I stop watering tomatoes under cover in the middle of September.

Everything you see in the polytunnel will be cleared within a month and then planted up with salad plants for winter. Garlic too.

This is my No-Dig garden in the UK and we don't add any extra compost before planting the salads. Ground preparation is really speedy.
